SMARTER Project presentations at international conferences – Summer 2025
The SMARTER Project team have been busy of late presenting at a number of international events. Below are some of our highlights from the summer so far.

We had a great time in May at ISCT, International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy, in New Orleans. Where Vincenzo Di Cerbo, Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult presented our poster “Towards Industry 4.0: Development of a Smart Bioprocessing Platform Integrating Real-Time Monitoring and Advanced Process Control for Autologous Cell Therapy”.
After all the time and effort that has gone into the process development of the SMARTER project over the past two years, it was a pleasure for Saadat Wadud, Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to finally be able to talk about it at the 20th anniversary of Bioprocess International Europe in Hannover a few months ago! It was a great event, full of interesting bioprocess and cell culture information.

Meanwhile, SMARTER project researcher Juan Carlos García Cañaveras, Medical Research Institute La Fe (IIS La Fe), presented the concept and main advances of the EU funded project SMARTER at the Pint Of Science ES, which aims to deliver the latest science research in an accessible format to the public.
Agustín Lahoz, SMARTER project researcher and group leader of the Biomarkers and Precision Medicine Unit at Medical Research Institute La Fe (IIS La Fe), presented the latest results of SMARTER project at the 21st Annual Conference of the Metabolomics Society in Prague.
